Gearing up for Cambridge
Today I finally got on the Internet! It's been almost a week since I've been online, mostly due to not having the password for my cousin's computer, and then the library closing due to Memorial Day weekend.
Even more exciting than Internet access: Ezra picked me up from my cousin's house and we went into Cambridge. Well, first we ate brunch at Maugaus Restaurant, which was disgusting. Ezra's spanikopita was nigh unedible, and I have never tasted such greasy eggs florentine. Then we drove to our new house and parked on the street, then strolled around to see what we could find:
1. A mattress store, just across the street, where I bought a mattress and we chatted with the store's only salesperson ("I'm quitting soon, so if either of you are looking for a job--");
2. A fabric store, where we failed to find anything suitable for our futon;
3. A Citizen's Bank, which I may or may not join;
4. A Dunkin Donuts (to use the restroom and buy some refreshments);
5. A public library, where we learned that members can reserve free museum passes! And that the library system is interconnected and huge. We were incredibly excited. The librarian even gave us free maps and directions to the nearest Shaw's grocery.
After a long detour to work on my resumes (long story) we headed out to dinner at Whole Foods and then back to my cousin's house. We were going to go to a career fair tomorrow, but it looks like none of the employers who will be there actually interest us. I can't wait to move into the new house and get everything settled, hopefully before Oli comes to visit!
